Could someone clarify the Latin name for viv lizard?  Have taxonomists renamed it Zootoca or is it still undecided?  Both names seem to be in use although most commonly Lacerta (Zootoca) vivipara. Any info on this gladly received.

Cheers

Well for me & most others it's Lacerta vivipara & long may that remain so. Each to their own but i'm not pandering to this Zootapioca rubbish!

Generally?, yes. If i hear about the silly sounding version then i'm quite aware of what it really is, but for me the change just doesn't seem crucial, & if it ain't broke, then don't fix it!
